Chuckwalla Can Cool and Store/Replenish Water

Function

Chuckwalla live in the desert, and when it is hot outside, they lower their temperature through breathing and evaporating their body’s water. To counteract water loss, they have an organ called a “liquid brain” that stores water in the body when it rains. Their noses have a salt gland, which maintains the proper balance of salt in the body.
